“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16

Into His Image
(by Tom Cowan, 1971)
“Lord, make my life to be
Like the man of Galilee
With love and charity
To all I meet.
To walk in holiness,
Kindness, and meekness,
Into His image, Lord,
I want to be.
Into His image,
Transformed each day.
Into His image,
Mold me I pray.
Fill every part of me,
Guiding me constantly,
Having control o’er me,
O, Lord, I pray.
If pride be in my life,
Some unclean thought or word,
Or some un-Christian deed,
Cleanse me, I pray.
Renew my life each day,
To walk in Jesus’ way,
And grow in purity
Revealing the Lord.”
The above song can be heard here: Into His Image (Lord make my life to be like the man of Galilee) – YouTube and was written by Tom Cowan (c) 1971. The story of the song’s connection with MBC is on that page and states: “Tom shared the story of creating the song while working with Camp Widjiitiwin one summer which was the youth camp for Muskoka Bible Camp north of Toronto. He wrote Into His Image as a theme song for that season, expecting that would be the extent of its use. However, after making the rounds of the various camps that year, it stuck around and began appearing in youth groups in various places.”
Because it was a special song for MBC for many years, including when I (Joy) was on youth staff, we’ve included it here as well. It can also be heard at this link.

Re: Our own family’s music:
We used to sing for special music in a small number of churches. We no longer travel very much with our children (due to health limitations of “mom”). However, we sometimes put our family’s music online here or here, if you’d like to listen. 🙂 We also still have cassettes of Joy’s instrumental piano available here, recorded back around the time when she was playing for special music at various churches, community events, and at the seniors’ conference at MBC.
