Monday PM: Familiar Chapter (Luke 15)
Sermon Outline: Sermon Colouring Page:
This audio sermon series is posted on our website with the kind permission of Muskoka Bible Centre. Dr. Roy Lawson was an Ontario pastor and youth leader as well as camp/conference director. (More about his life can be read at this link here.) This message was originally recorded at Muskoka Baptist Conference on August 27, 1990.
(Personal Notes: Dr. Roy’s wife, Joan, worked in MBC’s bookstore, where I would pick up sermon cassettes and of course, books to read. She was a cheerful and sweet lady! Dr. Roy was the director of MBC for some of the time I was a children’s ministry leader there. I remember one time after chapel when I told him in the Hub that a girl in our kids’ program had just prayed for salvation, he exclaimed in his booming voice, “THAT’S WONDERFUL!” and promptly lifted me off my feet in a big bear hug! When he downsized his book collection near the end of that summer, he gave me with a couple of his old children’s ministry resource books and showed me some puppets (felt mice and a furry cat) his mom had made for him when he was young. (I was known by people there to use, as a ventriloquist, animal puppets in some of the programming.) Another evening, we were on the same team to serve ice-cream cones in the Carousel – I and the others on the team would scoop normal amounts but Dr. Roy kept piling on as much as he’d dare for the customers! For those who knew him, I think we could all say that his love for God and for people was contagious!)
